Joral Sensors at the 2011 CONEXPO
Show
|
|
Joral products brought much attention at the 2011 CONEXPO
show in Las Vegas. The display highlighted the J1939
products. The booth had live sensors installed on
an operational crane for boom angle, boom extension,
winch position and high current sensing. In addition,
live operational sensors were available for
demonstration for attendees.
The following products were highlighted:

The Prox Encoder™ 18mm and 30mm
"NON-CONTACT!" Rotational Sensors |
Joral is pushing non-contact encoders to a new and
smaller level. Our innovative Hockey Puck non-contact
technology has been applied to standard sensor packages of 18
and 30mm diameters. These encoders mount like a
prox sensor, but are actually high resolution encoders.
They come complete with LED indicators
showing power and encoder status signals.
These encoders are magnetically based sensors that do not require a mechanical connection
or shaft coupling. No more shaft problems. No more worn bearings.
Our Hockey Puck sensing technology tolerates misalignment and distance variations.

|
Joral has released their new 1939 3-Axis Incline Sensor
for use on J1939 Can Bus systems.
The rugged-duty sensor consists of a small, lightweight 3-axis angular sensors.
The sensor can measure +/- 90 degrees in 3 axis (X, Y and Z).
Output resolution is 0.1 degree per bit with an absolute accuracy of 0.3 degrees at 25C.
Data
is transmitted on the industry standard J1939 Can
Bus to provide a system with information for making control and loading decisions.
The Joral 3-Axis Incline Sensor can be applied to a variety of applications such as cab leveling, lifting systems,
boom angle,
or or applications where angular sensing is important.

| J1939 Boom Angle Sensor Now Available |
|
Joral has released their new 1939 Boom Angle Sensor
for use on J1939 Can Bus systems.
The rugged-duty sensor consists of two small and lightweight 3-axis angular sensors.
One sensors mounts to the cab or base and the other mounts to the boom.
The two parts of the sensor communicate allowing the
device to compute relative and absolute angles. Data
is transmitted on the industry standard J1939 Can
Bus to provide a system with information for making control and loading decisions.
The Joral Boom Angle Sensor can be applied to a variety of applications where the angular position of two moving parts is important.

Joral Introduces Non-Contact Encoder. |
Joral has developed a patent pending revolutionary new encoder
called the Hockey Puck. It is non-contact to the measuring surface
and compensates for mechanical misalignment.
It has no shaft or bearings so the problems of drag, endplay, corrosion,
side loading, and push-out have been eliminated.
The user mounts a magnet on the rotating object and locates the encoder close by.
Precise mounting is not required, as it will tolerate changes in distance,
centering and planer tilt. This is important as the machine wears over time.
Non-contact means vibration and shock from the mechanics are not transmitted
directly to the electronics in the encoder.
This new device will surely change the use of encoders in rough applications.

Magnet
Assemblies make Installations a Breeze |
|
Joral is supplying several types of magnet assemblies for use
with the non-contact 'Hockey Puck' and 'Prox Encoder' lines.
High quality magnets are packaged in forms that assist in
installation and ensure a good magnetic sensing field for the
encoder. Two types are shown. The Bolt style
provides a magnet pressed into the head end of a bolt so the
bolt can be threaded, pushed or mated with the end of a rotating
shaft. The Sleeve or Collar style can be slide over a
shaft and contains two separate magnets to provide a very strong
field and provide a high degree of separation to the encoder.
